Continental Controls Corporation is providing all
control components necessary to improve fuel
economy and reduce emissions as well as your
carbon footprint on gas engines across Canada.

San Diego, CA
April 1, 2021, Continental Controls Corporation (CCC) working with Vortex
Production Services in Alberta Canada has now had many successful after
market applications utilizing the wide range of Emissions reducing products. By
installing CCC AFR control systems with Ulta-Low Emissions Control, and
enabling Vortex Emissions Target Solutions (VETS), Vortex has helped oil and
gas customers to meet and exceed current Environment Canada / NOx
Emissions Limits as well as Alberta Energy Regulator’s Methane Reduction
Requirements. By shrinking customers Carbon Footprint, it may even allow oil
and gas companies to qualify for Carbon Credits now or in the future.
The Canadian federal government recently announced that the carbon tax will
increase from its current $30 per ton of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to
$170 per ton in 2030 – an increase of 467% over 10 years. This announcement,
if made into law, is expected to have a profound effect on many consumers,
businesses, and industries in Canada.

“We are very excited to be promoting these fuels saving and emission reducing
products with a company like Vortex that can really help bring home these
benefits to their customers” says David Fisher President of CCC. “Now that
Canada is raising GHG emissions taxes it really becomes financially beneficial
for all oil and gas companies in Canada to work with Vortex to lower emissions
and potentially even save money.”

Ken Osborne, Vice President of Operations says “VETS is our Vortex Emissions
Target Solution to offer cost effective solutions to present and future emissions
guidelines”. “Our partnerships with Altronic and CCC allow us to upgrade older controls to meet the rigors of new Emissions compliance now and well into the

About Vortex Services:
Vortex services is the Exclusive Distribution for Continental Controls Gas Engine products through
Altronic LLC. throughout all of Canada.
Vortex operates three divisions. Packaging, Structures and Services. The Vortex Services Division has
one of the largest fleets of mechanical service trucks in Western Canada, operated by the most
experienced team of heavy-duty mechanics, with coverage across Alberta reaching into Saskatchewan
and British Columbia.
The CCC product line is central to the VETS (Vortex Emissions Target Solution) system. This is of great
value to Vortex as they continue to take advantage of the increased focus on GHG Emissions by
customers and regulatory bodies.

The Control box on the left monitors the entire Fuel Control, mixing and ratio
of Air and Fuel to the engine. The Catalyst Monitor on the right monitors a
variety of sensors and controls around the NSCR catalyst. In addition to
monitoring temperatures, pressures, and Air/Fuel ratio, it records the data for
future review.

Vortex also adds a CCC FM 50 flow meter to record before and after fuel
consumption. This measurement is accepted by the Canadian Government as a
valid indication of Fuel Savings over a given time-period. This can provide a
calculation of Carbon Reduction which can result in Carbon Credits!

A Waukesha 7042 GSI with the addition of the CCC/Vortex system has reduced exhaust emissions not just to current standards but well below the goal for 2026 of less than 1gm/bhphr of NOx. This engine is has seen substantial fuel savings while lowering exhaust emissions of NOx and CO to future standards.
